Dr. Ricardo Angeles

Ric_2Dr. Angeles is an Assistant Professor-Adjunct and a Research Coordinator of the Department of Family Medicine, McMaster University. He completed his Masters’ degrees in Public Health and Health Professions Education in the Philippines and completed his PhD in Health Research Methodology in McMaster University, Canada. Prior to coming to Canada, he was a trained as a physician, university professor, and public health epidemiologist in the Philippines. He was a former Asst. Dean of a Medical School (Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Medicine) in the Philippines and had many research leadership roles (Research and Development, Ethics Board) in the city and province where he formerly worked in. His research work included community-based surveys and interventions, health policy analyses, and clinical studies. He mentored students pursuing their Masters in Public Health. He was the head the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and led many outbreak investigations. In Canada, he is a Co-Investigator with the CHAP research and works with the CHAP Team of McMaster University. He is a member of the team that developed the CHAP-EMS intervention. He also mentors residents of the Department of Family Medicine regarding their Quality Assurance projects and works as the Quality Coach for Hamilton Central Health Link. His research interest includes evaluating complex community-based interventions and using/developing electronic database to assess, evaluate, and guide research interventions.
