- Iffath Syed BSc, MPH, PhD candidate
Iffath Syed is doctoral student at York University’s Graduate Program in Health. She completed her Honors Bachelor of Science (HBSc) Degree at the University of Toronto, and completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) Degree, also at the University of Toronto. She is the first and the only Alumna to date who has completed three specializations for her MPH from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health in Occupational Health, in the Collaborative Program in Environment and Health, and in Master’s Global Health Concentration. Her research pertains to chronic illness among vulnerable groups including immigrants, visible minorities, racialized persons, women, and youth; using the Social Justice, Human Rights, and Social Determinants of Health lenses. Iffath’s project interests are with the South Asian community.
- Guytano Virdo B.HS, MA, PhD candidate
Guytano Virdo holds a Bachelor of Health Studies and Master of Arts from York University and is a Doctoral Candidate of Ryerson University. His research interests include health policy, precarious labour, and quantitative analysis. He is working on the CHAP Markham program of research as a CIHR Doctoral Trainee under Professor Tamara Daly.
- Emmanuelle Arpin, BSc, MSc candidate, Research Associate, CHUM Research Center.
Emmanuelle Arpin is candidate for the Master es Sciences in Health Sociology at the University of Montreal. Her qualitative research focuss on the social determinants of health as well as on health systems across Canada and OCDE countries. Her master’s thesis project takes its roots in the detection of social inequalities and on sexual vulnerability of the 18 to 25 years-old. Her research is founded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the results she obtained have been presented in numerous conferences across Canada. Since autumn 2014, she has been working on the implementation of CHAP pilot project held in Laval, Quebec.
- Sarah Montminy, MD, Research Associate, CHUM Research Centre.
Sarah Montminy is currently finishing her Medical Degree (fifth year) at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. Her research interests include cardiovascular health and vulnerable populations. In 2011, she worked with Dr. Olivier Bertrand’s research team, at the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (IUCPQ), on a textbook exploring techniques for percutaneous coronary interventions (article). Since july 2014, she is working with the CHAP team on the implementation of a pilot project in Laval (Qc), under the supervision of professor Janusz Kaczorowski.
- Gabriel Barsetti-Benoît, BSc candidate, Research Associate, CHUM Research Centre.
Gabriel Barsetti-Benoit is completing a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences at Université de Montréal. He started to collaborate with the CHAP team as a volunteer at the Laval site. He then decided to join the team and is now working as a Research Associate with professor Janusz Kaczorowski.
