Dr. Ahmad is Associate Professor at the School of Health Policy and Management, York University and Research Scientist at the North York General Hospital. She conducts mixed-method research to examine and address health disparities in access to care at the intersection of gender, ethnicity and migration. The key foci in her research are primary care settings, psychosocial health, vulnerable communities and eHealth innovations. Her accomplishments to date include over forty peer-reviewed grants and sixty publications.
In recognition of her mentorship, she received Kiran van Rijn Award from the CIHR STIHR in Health Care, Technology and Place. She is recipient of CIHR Fellowships and Early Researcher Awards from the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation.
